Welcome to Piano Fingers – Book Three, where your musical journey continues with exciting new challenges and discoveries.
This book builds directly on the foundations established in Piano Fingers – Book Two.
The first piece begins with familiar notes and patterns, allowing students to continue with confidence while gradually exploring new areas of the keyboard.
Students are introduced to more notes in both hands and begin to develop greater independence between their hands. This encourages flexibility, improved coordination, and a broader awareness of the piano.
Musical understanding is further expanded with the introduction of new symbols, rhythms, and expressive techniques. Students will explore:
- Staccatos and slurs, adding contrast and phrasing to their playing
- Time signatures of 6/8 and common time (C)
- Dotted notes and short and long pauses
- 1st and 2nd time bars for repeated sections
- Phrases, shaping musical sentences
- Basic dynamics, helping to play with expression and character
- Three-note chords, supporting harmonic awareness and hand coordination
As in the earlier books, the music is presented in a friendly and accessible way. Some pieces are supported with accompaniment, and illustrations continue to encourage imagination and enjoyment while learning.
